Chabungbam Sagei Lup felicitates marine engineer Vishal Chabungbam

Imphal, September 13 2026: Chabungbam Sagei Apunba Lup felicitated Vishal Chabungbam who has been commissioned as Marine Engineer in Merehant Navy.

The felicitation function was held at the residence of Chabungbam Mangi at Chabungbam Leirak, Sagolband Moirang Leirak, and was attended by many members of the Chabungbam Sagei.

Former Vice Chancellor of Manipur University Prof Ch Amuba, who attended as chief guest, said the formation of Chabungbam Sagei Apunba Lup to unite the Chabungbams will help in the development of the clan and produce more competent persons.

He said Vishal Chabungbam achieved success due to hard work and urged the youth of the clan to work hard and focus on studies as it is an age of competition.

President of Chabungbam Sagei Apunba Lup Dr Ch Nandakishor, retired Veterinary Director, Government of Manipur, said Chabungbam is a small clan and the function was organised with the aim of producing more capable persons from the clan.

Vishal Chabungbam said one can pursue Marine Engineering after passing Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Notably, Vishal completed graduation in Marine Engineering and later did M Tech in Russia.

Marine Engineering is a very adventurous and challenging profession, Vishal said, adding that the Merchant Navy transports oil and gas in energy trade ships.

His job involves export and supply of Liquefied Natural Gas from exporting countries like USA, Gulf countries and Norway to importing countries like India, Japan, South Korea and Italy.

LNG is supplied at minus 162 degree Celsius and transported in specialized ships, he said, adding that he aspires to become Chief Engineer in Merchant Marine Engineering.
