Kangpokpi, August 13 2025:
The 3-month vocational training course on tailoring, organized by the Institute for Community Action and Resource Development (ICARD), concluded today at the Conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner Kangpokpi.
The event was held under the Mission Shakti-Shakti Shadan Project, with the aim of empowering women and providing them with skills and resources to become self-sufficient.
The closing ceremony of the training programme was graced by Deputy Commissioner Kangpokpi, Mahesh Choudhary as the chief guest, Lamminlal Simte as functional president and N Shokhongam Baite, ADM as guest of Honour.
During the ceremony, the DC handed out sewing machines to 8 female individuals, some of whom were from Internally Displaced Person (IDP) camps.
The officials in charge of the training program also briefed attendees on the program and its benefits, emphasizing that the machines were allocated based on individual circumstances to those in need from IDP camps.
The trainees also shared their experience and expressed their gratitude to the District Administration for their unwavering support.
This closing ceremony was a testament to the success of ICARD's efforts in providing vocational training and resources to empower women and help them sustain themselves and their families.
