NSCN-IM offers 45-day general amnesty

Dimapur, June 12 2025:
The NSCN-IM has extended "general amnesty to all who have gone astray from doing what they have vowed before God and Naga nation in defending the historical and political rights of the Nagas" .
In a proclamation issued Thursday, NSCN-IM chairman Q Tuccu said he is "pleased to proclaim solemn general amnesty to all concerned as mentioned herein throughout the sovereign territory of Nagalim to humbly come forward to avail the general amnesty within the stipulated period of 45 days with effect from this 12th day of June 2025 of this solemn amnesty proclamation is issued" .
The chairman specified that in view of the Naga political movement spanning over 75 years during which "we have invested blood, sweats and tears to define the Naga nation as given by our Almighty God and the urgency to halt anything that obstruct nation building process by way of failing to defend the historical and political rights of the Nagas becoming the victim of the flattering policy of the Government of India, a time has come to put ourselves in proper perspective with the spirit of forgiveness and integrity" .
The proclamation also said the NSCN-IM recognises that "our battle cry "Nagalim for Christ" must be taken care of with divine connection and guidance" .
It also said it recognises the urgency to join hands in the struggle for self-determination and the protection of "our history, heritage and culture" .
Tuccu said, "The National Security Council (NSC) of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN) in exercise of the courage given by our Almighty God, has taken the decision on May 30, 2025 to extend general amnesty to all who have gone astray from doing what they have vowed before God and Naga nation in defending the historical and political rights of the Nagas" .
