No protest without permission: Bodies

Thoubal, June 11 2025: A public meeting has resolved that prior permission should be sought before calling any general strike or blockade or any other protest in areas under All Yairipok United Clubs Organisation (AYUCO) and Nongpok Sayang Apunba Lup (NSAL), a joint body of clubs/organisations from Phajakhong to Thoubal Kshetrileikai.

As per a release, the meeting held at the office of Bish-nunaha Youth Federation, Yairipok on Tuesday was presided over by AYUCO & NSAL president Ananda Laishram and attended by representatives of various clubs, organisations, association and meira paibi groups.

The meeting decided that AYUCO and NSAL must be intimated before launch of any agitation in areas under the two organisations, including Yairipok Keithel.

Moreover, if any outsider wants to organise any programme at Yairipok Keithel or nearby areas then they should take permission from AYUCO and NSAL, maintained the release, adding that the meeting-also endorsed for the resolution to come into immediate effect.
