Imphal, May 10 2026: The Sheirengbasingee Apunba Lup on Sunday condoled the death of three approved lyricists and singers of All India Radio, Imphal, and announced plans to release a book and awards at its upcoming foundation day.

SHAL held an executive meeting at the residence of poet Thingbaijam Swarankumar in Oinam Bazaar, presided over by president S Ibungochouba.

Members observed a two-minute silence to mourn the demise of poet Haobam Mirabai of Kongba Kshetri Leikai, RK Thoibisana of Uripok Ningthoukhongjam Leikai, and singer Yensenbam Bilasini.

The Lup expressed grief and shared the sorrow of the bereaved families.

The meeting resolved to release SHEITHAROL-17, a compilation of songs written by AIR Imphal-approved poets of the Lup, at the 16th foundation day programme to be held on August 23.Awards for Lyricist, Singer and Composer of the Year will also be presented at the event, the Lup said.
