Tamenglong hosts 'Brand Manipur' training on food product branding and packaging

Tamenglong, April 10 2026:
A one-day training programme on "Branding and Packaging of Food Products of Manipur" under the RAMP Project (MN 5.3 Brand Manipur) was held today at the Conference Hall of Peace Hotel, Tamenglong Headquarters.
The programme was attended by key officials and stakeholders, with Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Tamenglong, D Meidinbui, gracing the occasion as the chief guest.
President of the Traders' Association Tamenglong, TP Pantithan, attended as the guest of honour.
Resource persons for the training included Abung Thomas, General Manager of the District Industries Centre (DIC), Tamenglong, and Dr Nilay Kanti Pramanik, Deputy Director of the Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP), Kolkata.
They shared insights on effective branding strategies and the importance of proper packaging in enhancing product appeal and marketability.
Addressing the participants, TP Pantithan stressed the need to prioritise local products and support local traders, stating that such an approach is vital for boosting the region's economic growth.
Chief guest, D Meidinbui highlighted the significance of proper packaging in attracting customers while also ensuring food safety and quality.
The training programme was organised by the Indian Institute of Packaging, Kolkata, as part of a statewide initiative.
According to the Deputy Manager of IIP, similar sessions have been conducted across various districts of Manipur, with the Tamenglong programme marking the concluding session of the series.
The initiative aims to promote both food and nonfood products of Manipur by building capacity in branding and packaging.
