Imphal, May 09 2025: A woman was found dead, hanging inside a shop at Waiton Mayai Leikai under the jurisdiction of Heingang police station in Imphal East today.

The deceased has been identified as Hidam ningol RK ongbi Sanatombi (39), w/o RK Rishikanta (41).She was found hanging inside a shop located a few houses away from her residence on the northern side this morning.

The corpse has been deposited at JNIMS mortuary after Forensic officials and Heingang police conducted an inquest at the scene.

Meanwhile, the deceased's brother filed a complaint with Heingang police, requesting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.

The complainant alleged that his sister's mother-in-law may have played a role in abetting her suicide.
