Imphal, July 08 2025: Office of the DC/Collector, Land Acquisition, Imphal West has notified that the land acquisition process initiated for the proposed expansion of National Highway-137A (Imphal to Kakching section) has lapsed, as per provisions under the National Highways Act, 1956 .

A public notice issued by Mayanglambam Rajkumar Singh, Deputy Commis-sioner/CALA, Imphal West, mentioned that in a letter dated March 24, 2025 informed that the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the widening project of NH-137A from Imphal to Kakching Lamkhai via Mayang Imphal had been deferred by the Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC) due to huge cost in land acquisition.
