International seminar on "Manipuri Literature and Culture" held at Bangladesh

A one-day international seminar on "Manipuri Literature and Culture" was held on Tuesday at Lakshmi Narayan Temple, Bhanubil in Bangladesh.
The programme was jointly organised by the Manipuri Library & Research Centre, Bangladesh, and Patriotic Writers' Forum (PAWF), Manipur.
The seminar was moderated by Bangladesh Manipuri Sahitya Sangsad, president AK Seram.
Secretary of the Patriotic Writers' Forum (PAWF), Manipur, Rakesh Naorem delivered the keynote address.
During the seminar, poet and writer Ayekpam Anju presented her paper on "Bangladeshta Manipurgi Lon amadi Literaturegi Houjik Oiriba Phibam" .
Poet and writer Seram Niranjan presented his paper on "Thabal Chongba: Meitei Khunnaigi Shaktak Khudam", while writer Nabakumar Oinam presented his paper on the topic "Malemgi Mioiba Khunnaida Sanamahi" .
Speaking on the occasion, PAWF Manipur, secretary Rakesh Naorem stated that it is a matter of pride for Manipuris across the world that the Meitei community residing in Bangladesh continues to embrace and preserve Manipuri literature, script, traditions and cultural practices.
He further noted that the Meitei community in Bangladesh, which has been settled there for nearly 400 years, continues to live with dignity and pride owing to its rich heritage of language, script and culture.
He stressed the importance of preserving and promoting these traditions for future generations.
The seminar was attended by several noted writers, students, elders and researchers from Bangladesh.
