PKL, PSL condemn harassment of woman, demand strict action

Ukhrul, August 05 2025: The Pharung Katamnao Long (Pharung Students Union) and Pharung Shanao Long (Pharung Women's League) Pharung Village, Ukhrul, have strongly condemned the allegedactof physical harassment committed by the family of one Shanti and her husband Joshua toward Rinyaphy Zimik, a girl from the village of Pharung.

In a joint condemnation letter, both organisations expressed deep shock over the unfortunate incident, which reportedly caused immense trauma to the victim during her stay at the family's residence.

The two bodies have urged the concerned law enforcement agencies to take immediate and exemplary action against the accused family, in accordance with legal provisions, to deliver justice and prevent similar acts in the future.

Faith Phazang, president of PKL, extended heartfelt sympathy to the victim and her family on behalf of the two organizations.

He further stated that both PKL and PSL would continue to offer their support in the victim's pursuit of justice.
