Lilong Haoreibi College students warn of intense agitation

Lilong Haoreibi College Students' Union has warned of intense forms of agitation if Manipur University fails to issue an ordinance by September 6 for implementation of Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) in the college.
Lilong Haoreibi College Students' Union general secretary SM Farid made the above statement while speaking to media persons during a press meet held at the college auditorium today.
The press meet was conducted after representatives of Lilong Haoreibi College Students' Union, Lilong Haoreibi College Alumni Association and Ex Servicemen Team Lilong held a meeting with the Governor of Manipur earlier in the day.
With regards to the meeting with the Governor, SM Farid said that the Governor gave a positive response about the issues in the college.
Expressing discontent over the college shutdown for more than a month owing to the demand for ITEP in the college, he stated that intense form of agitation will be carried out including blocking of National Highway 102 if Manipur University fails to issue an ordinance by September 6.Seeking support from students and civil society organizations, he maintained that the Manipur University VC and State Government should be held accountable for any untoward outcome in connection with the student's agitation.
