5 days remand for accused

Imphal, May 30 2019:
Naorem Ningol Thangjam Ongbi Purnima (41) w/o (L) Premjit of Langol housing type II Aying Leikai, was taken into 5 days police remand today, after she was produced before the Court of JMIC Imphal West I (in charge of CJM Imphal West) in connection with the death of one Ningthoujam Sanatomba at a healing centre owned by her yesterday.
Purnima was produced before the Court by a team of Lamphel Police along with a prayer for remanding her to police custody for further investigation of the case.
The IO, through the APP, submitted that Purnima was arrested yesterday in connection with the death of one Ningthoujam Sanatomba @ Bomcha 40 s/o (L) Paka of Lairikyengbam Awang Leikai, at the healing centre which is owned by her.
During the investigation, the accused admitted to the crime, by stating that she had beaten the victim with a stick.
The stick which was allegedly used in the crime, was also produced before the Court by the police.
After going through the case record and hearing the submission of the IO, the Court remanded Purnima to police custody till June 3.On the other hand, the body of Ningthoujam Sanatomba was claimed by family members after necessary post mortem was conducted in the presence of the Duty Magistrate.
