Imposter rounded up

Imphal, May 30 2019:
An individual who impersonated a policeman and allegedly threatened people was rounded up by the people of Keirao Wangkhem, Imphal East district yesterday.
According to information culled from the spot, the individual round up by local people of Keirao Wangkhem and handed over to Irilbung police station was identified as one Thongram Inao (57) s/o late Munan of Chanam Sandrok Mamang Leikai.
Using a warrant of arrest issued by the Civil Judge (Senior Division), Lamphel, Inao allegedly threatened some families of Keirao Wangkhem.
Inao went to some eight/nine families and told them that he was there to arrest the president and the secretary of the local club.
As he looked suspicious, local people rounded up Inao and handed him over to Irilbung police station at around 7 pm yesterday.
Nongmaileima Youth Club, Wangkhem Secretary Ch Samananda said that a case has been pending at the Court of Civil Judge (Senior Division) in connection with a dispute over a village grazing ground.
It was amidst this tense situation that Inao came to the village impersonating a police personnel and threatened many villagers, Samananda said.
