Awareness programme on CPR held

Imphal, July 28 2026: Indian Red Cross Society, Imphal West District Branch conducted a CPR awareness programme at Niramala Rani High School, Wangoi on Tuesday in connection with Dr APJ Abdul Kalam National CPR Week.

The week is observed annually from July 21 to commemorate former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, who passed away on July 27, 2015 due to cardiac arrest at IIM Shillong.

Trainers and members of IRCS demonstrated CPR techniques and guided personnel on how to respond during cardiac arrest or heart attack They also explained selfhelp measures in case of emergency.

The programme aimed to equip personnel with basic life-saving skills to assist others and protect themselves during medical emergencies.

Notably, IRCS Imphal West District Branch also conducted a similar CPR awareness programme at 120 Battalion CRPF, Phayeng on Sunday.
