Mao Council expresses deep anguish over Dzukou-Mt Esii fire

The Mao Council expressed profound anguish, pain and concern over the massive devastation caused by the recent inferno at Dzukou valley and Mount Esii range, terming the incident a grave loss to nature and humanity.
In a press statement issued by the Mao Council, the body stated that the unfortunate fire has resulted in multidimensional destruction to the environment reducing nature's invaluable gifts to ashes.
The Council strongly denounced what it described as a reckless and irresponsible act that has ravaged one of the most scenic, beautiful and revered landscapes in the region.
Condemning the perpetrators in the strongest possible terms, the Mao Council said such acts of environment vandalism are highly condemnable and unacceptable, given the magnitude of destruction caused.
The Council urgently appealed to the government and all concerned authorities to take immediate and effective measures to douse the fire, prevent further spread, and bring the ongoing destruction of the highly valued and sacred Mt Esii under control.
It further demanded that those responsible for the incident be identified and booked under the law to ensure accountability and deterrence.
