CRPF observes 88th Raising Day with solemnity and festivity

The Central Reserve Police Force marked its 88th Raising Day on Monday with programmes held at Group Centre and 69 Battalion in Imphal, reflecting the Force's motto of Service, Loyalty and Sacrifice.
At Group Centre, CRPF Imphal, the event was chaired by Rajendra Narayan Dash, IGP, Manipur & Nagaland Sector, and supervised by Anil Kumar Bhardwaj, DIGP, GC Imphal.
Officers, personnel, veterans, martyrs' families and guests attended.
The celebrations began with a wreath laying ceremony and Guard of Honour at the Quarter Guard to pay homage to CRPF martyrs.
Families of martyrs were also felicitated.
Addressing the Sainik Sammelan, Rajendra Dash recalled the Force's journey from Crown Representative's Police in 1939 to CRPF, and praised personnel for maintaining law and order in Manipur and the Nation.
As part of the observance, a debate competition for Kendriya Vidyalaya students and friendly football and volleyball matches were held.
Nationwide, CRPF is also running an online competition on the MyGov Portal with a Rs 10 lakh prize pool.
At 69 Battalion, CRPF, Mantripukhri, Commandant SA Rojan Zimik led a Special Sainik Sammelan, urging personnel to uphold professionalism and discipline.
Tree plantation with students and teachers of Unique Academy School, distribution of sweets to children and residents of Heingang, volleyball matches and a Bara Khana were also organised.
