World Emergency Medicine Day: Hands-on training programme conducted

In observance of World Emergency Medicine Day, a one-day "Hands-on First Aid and Emergency Training Programme" was held today at Manipur Police Training College (MPTC) campus in Pangei.
According to a press release, the programme was jointly organised by Shija Hospitals & Research Institute Pvt Ltd in collaboration with the Department of Emergency Medicine and MPTC, Pangei, in alignment with the global theme "Proud to Provide Your Emergency Care" recognizing the critical role of emergency care professionals.
It aimed to equip police personnel with essential lifesaving skills for effective responses in critical situations.
Led by Dr Sweta Khuraijam, Consultant Emergency Physician, the session comprised theoretical instruction and practical demonstrations.
Senior MPTC officers, including S Somorjit Singh, AG Sharma, Md Abul Kalam and L Manitomba Singh, attended the programme alongside other officials.
Approximately 100 security personnel participated in the training programme.
The event covered essential emergency response procedures, including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), bleeding control, fracture management, bum care, and initial trauma response.
