'The Mystic Tales of Kangleipak' launched

Imphal, July 26 2026: YAI Publications released 'The Mystic Tales of Kangleipak' by author Mutum Mir at Ewakpham, Uripok on Sunday.

The book launch brought together scholars and cultural thinkers to highlight the role of writing in preserving folklore and cultural heritage.

The ceremony was presided over by Dr Naorem Thoinu, founder of YAI Publications.

Vidyapati Senjam, former Vice-President of the Sanamahi Temple Board, attended as chief guest, while culturologist Ningthouja Lancha and Dr N Pramod Singh, Head of Law Department, DM University were guests of honour.

Dr Ranibala Khumukcham, Assistant Professor, DM University, introduced the book, noting it documents the mystical narratives, beliefs and traditional imagination that shape Manipur's cultural memory.

Vidyapati Senjam said such works help take Manipur's folklore to a wider audience, urging young writers to present Kangleipak's heritage with creativity and responsibility.

The event underscored the importance of local publishing in safeguarding oral traditions amid social change and digital influence.
