Eviction drive at Gwarok Reserved Forest dismantles 7 illegal structures

Thoubal, August 25 2025: As part of its continuous drive to clear encroachments, the Forest Department of Manipur carried out an eviction drive today at Gwarok Reserved Forest located under the Divisional Forest Office Thoubal.

According to reports, the eviction was conducted by a joint team of Thoubal Range and Kakching Range led by Thoubal Range Officer Dineshchandra Salam under the initiative of DFO Leishangthem Jeceelee.

Personnel from the Nongpok Sekmai Police Station team also assisted in the operation at Langmeithet and Saram under Gwarok Reserved Forest.

Range Officer, Dineshchandra Salam in formed that during the drive seven total structures, including two illegal structures at Langmeithet, four and one between Saram and Langmeithet were dismantled.

He added that eviction drives will also be carried out continuously to prevent further encroachment.

He also appealed to the public to dismantle the occupied illegal structures at the earliest.
