CBC Imphal holds outreach programme on Viksit Bharat@2047 at Oinam

A one-day special outreach programme on Viksit Bharat@2047 was organised on Tuesday at Royal Academy of Law, Oinam in Bishnupur district by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Regional Office, Imphal.
As per a release issued by the CBC Imphal, the programme was attended by Yelam Ramananda Singh, Secretary of the Governing Body of Royal Academy of Law, Oinam; Eliza Maisnam, Principal, Royal Academy of Law; Ibeyaima Thounaojam, Lecturer; and Thokchom Anthony of Central Bureau of Communication, Regional Office, Imphal as presidium members.
During the interaction programme, speakers highlighted the importance of strengthening the justice delivery system as a key pillar in achieving the vision of a developed India by 2047.Discussions focused on recent legal reforms, including the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, and Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, which aim to adopt a victim-centric approach.
Key provisions such as timely updates to victims, electronic FIRs, mandatory medical care for victims of sexual offences, the inclusion of victim testimonies and enhanced protection for women and children were also discussed.
The new laws replacing colonial-era legislations were highlighted as significant steps towards modernising the justice system.
The programme also featured an on-the-spot quiz competition on Viksit Bharat by 2047, with certificates and mementoes awarded to winners.
Cultural performances, including a theme-based one-act play, were presented by local artistes and CBC troupes.
NSS Programme Officer of Royal Academy of Law, Ch Shebalini Devi also attended the event.
