Imphal, July 20 2025: Assam Rifles organised "A Day with the Company Commander" in Sehlon village, Chandel district, aimed at strengthening community relations and fostering dialogue, education, and recreation.

The event was participated by 139 villagers, including a significant turnout of youth, women, and children.

The programme covered detailed career counselling session for local youth, offering guidance on academic choices, employment opportunities, and pathways into the armed forces, followed by a hygiene and sanitation awareness session, tailored to address women's health and well-being, according to a PRO IGAR (S) release.

Children took part in engaging activities such as drawing, Bible reading, and cultural dance, creating a lively and memorable atmosphere.

Sporting events underscored the importance of fitness and unity, with highlights including a spirited volleyball match between Riflewomen and local female players, and a football match featuring Assam Rifles personnel against village youth�both showcasing strong camaraderie and talent.

The day concluded with a community film screening, enjoyed by all age groups, adding a warm and festive end to the event.

The initiative was widely appreciated, with villagers expressing heartfelt thanks to Assam Rifles for promoting community cohesion in such a positive and meaningful way, the release added.
