Imphal, February 20 2026:
The BJP Manipur Pradesh has slammed Indian Youth Congress (I YC) workers for staging a shirtless protest and raising anti-Modi slogans at Bharat Mandapam during the prestigious Global AI Summit.
In a statement released today, M Asnikumar Singh, spokesperson for the BJP, criticized the IYC's actions as "shameful and irresponsible conduct".
He emphasized that the Summit, which saw participation from over 100 countries and global technology leaders like Sam Altman and Sundar Pichai, was a moment of "immense national pride" showcasing India's innovation in Artificial Intelligence.
"At such a historic juncture, when India's global stature is being recognised and celebrated, the Congress party has chosen disruption over dignity", the statement read.
The BJP spokesperson accused the Congress of attempting to tarnish India's image internationally through "indecent theatrics", which he equated to seeking to embarrass the country before the global community.
Asnikumar Singh further suggested that these actions reflect the Congress party's inability to accept India's rapid progress on the world stage.
He described the conduct as demonstrating "political desperation rather than responsible Opposition" .
The BJP Manipur Pradesh maintained that India deserves a mature and accountable Opposition that respects the nation's image, especially during international events.
The statement concluded with a firm assertion: "Attempts to sabotage India's global prestige will not succeed.
India's rise is unstoppable" .
