Manipuri language workshop concludes in Agartala

Thoubal, March 18 2026: A three-day workshop on Manipuri Language concluded today at Kokborok Learning Centre, Agartala in Tripura, focusing on enhancing basic knowledge of Meitei Mayek and spelling methods of Manipuri writing using Bengali script.

The workshop held from March 16 to 18, was organised by the Directorate of Kokborok and other Minority Language, Government of Tripura.

A total of 25 participants attended the programme, which aimed to promote linguistic understanding and preserve the rich heritage of the Manipuri language.

The sessions were led by expert Khoisnam Mangal Singha, who played a key role in imparting knowledge on both Meitei Mayek script and the application of Bengali script in Manipuri writing.
