Imphal, July 17 2025: The "7th Chahigi Pukmen Paomennaba Thouram" was held today at Sana Konung, organised by the Meitei-Pangal Eegi Khongul Liba Foundation Committee, Manipur.

A large number of Meitei-Pangals from across the State participated in the annual gathering which was hosted by Leishemba Sanajaoba, Rajya Sabha MP and titular King of Manipur.

At the meeting, Leishemba Sanajaoba emphasized the importance of preserving the unique cultural heritage, traditional art and craft of the Meitei-Pangals.

"Recognizing and understanding the intertwined past, including the shared cultural and social elements, can foster a sense of unity and mutual respect among the Meitei and Meitei-Pangal communities", he added.

Furthermore, Leishemba Sanajaoba advised the Meitei-Pangal Eegi Khongul Liba Foundation Committee to also invite/include the Meitei Pangals residing in Assam, Tripura and Bangladesh in the next year's gathering.
