Senapati/Tamenglong, May 16 2026:
The Naga Students' Union Delhi (NSUD) and the Liangmai Pui Naga Ruangdi (LPNR) have strongly condemned the abduction of 6 innocent Naga men who have remain unreleased till date.
Both organisations have demanded the immediate, unconditional and safe release of all 6 captive Naga men without any further delay.
In separate press notes, NSUD and LPNR have also condemned and condoled the killing of three Church leaders in a brutal ambush on May 13 between Kotzim and Kotlen areas in Kangpokpi.
NSUD has appealed to the conscience-keepers within the Kuki community to intervene with the concerned armed group(s) and facilitate the safe release of these Naga civilians.
While noting the normalization of exchange of inflammatory rhetoric on social media, NSUD has expressed astonishment over the actions of the Kuki Student Organisation, Delhi-NCR (KSO, Delhi-NCR), accusing it of descending into complete loss of civility and engaging in the demeaning act of vilifying the Nagas without any proof or credible evidence.
In their press release, NSUD said it considers the proposed protest by the KSO Delhi on May 16 as a desperate attempt to "mask the blood-stained hands of those Kukis implicated in the killing of Thadou Church leaders" by shifting blame onto the Nagas.
The protest appears designed not only to channel public anger but also to serve as a performative spectacle to politicize death, commandeer the grief of innocent people, and "advance the sinister political agenda of the Kuki community", alleged the NSUD.
While it fully respects the democratic right to peacefully protest, the NSUD has urged the KSO, Delhi-NCR, to immediately remove any references to individual Naga tribes or organizations from their proposed rally posters, pamphlets, and slogan cards.
"Targeted vilification of any community under the guise of protest is unacceptable and will not go unchallenged, the release mentioned.
