Imphal, May 16 2025: The Central Trade Unions have deferred their proposed Nationwide strike on May 20 to July 9 in light of the disturbing situation prevalent in the country following the India-Pakistan conflict.

As per a release issued by All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) Manipur State Committee, the decision to defer the strike was taken during a meeting of the Joint Platform of Central Trade Unions and Independent Sectoral Federations and Associations on Thursday at New Delhi.

The meeting also took note of the unfolding political developments in the country after the heinous terrorist attack in Pahalgam killing 26 innocent people, and the response of the Indian Armed Forces in their combat strike actions.

The AITUC Manipur State Committee also informed that as per the decision of the Joint Platform, the Nationwide strike will be also held in Manipur on July 9 to protest the 'anti-worker and pro-corporate' policies of the Government.
