TPR rises; 4 deaths, 113 new cases reported

After witnessing 2.48 per cent test positivity rate (TPR) on Thursday, the lowest since April 13, the TPR bounced back on Friday to 4.32 per cent with government bulletins reporting four fatalities along with 113 new positive cases out of 2618 samples tested.
The four fatalities reported in the last 24 hours were from Imphal West (2), Kakching (1) and Churachandpur.
One of them had received the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine while the remaining three were unvaccinated.
The four new deaths took the cumulative number of death cases to 1893.Only nine districts reported Covid cases on Friday with Imphal West reporting highest count at 63 while Kangpokpi and Thoubal reporting the lowest with one new case each.
In terms of positivity rate, Kamjong district recorded highest single day positivity rate at 11.6 per cent after reporting 5 new cases out of 43 samples tested while Thoubal recorded lowest positivity rate at 0.6 percent.
Chandel, Jiribam, Noney, Pherzawl, Senapati, Tamenglong and Tengnoupal had no new positive case on Friday.
The active caseload remains same at 1444 on Friday out of which 198 (13.71 per cent) are in home isolation, 472 (32.69 per cent) in CHICs, 466 (32.27 per cent) in CCCs and 308 (21.33 per cent) in hospitals.
Among the hospitalised patients, 80 are admitted to 1CU/HDU wards, 64 are on oxygen support and 22 on ventilator support.
However, there is no report on number of patients on oxygen and ventilator support from JNIMS even though it has 151 patients.
On the other hand, there are three patients on oxygen support in different CCCs.
As of Friday evening, 582 beds including 101 ICU/HDU beds are available in different hospitals.
There is no updated information on bed vacancy in other facilities but as of Thursday evening 2706 beds are available in different Covid Care Centres and 416 beds (25 ICU/HDU) in district hospitals and CHCs.
So far, the state has recorded 93,145 positive cases and 1519 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month has recorded 1961 new cases and 38 fatalities out of which 839 new cases and 11 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, all the 113 new positive cases (55 male & 58 female) are from among the general population and their samples were detected at RIMS (1), JNIMS (11) and other testing centres (101) .
The positive cases are from Imphal East (26), Imphal West (63), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (3), Kakching (3), Ukhrul (8), Churachandpur (3), Kangpokpi (1) and Kamjong (5) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
In the last 24 hours, 109 patients were discharged from home isolation (32), RIMS (1), JNIMS (17), CCCs (58) and CCCs (1) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,22,545 (general population - 1,18,235 and CAPF personnel 4,310) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,19,208 (general population - 1,14,922 and CAPF personnel - 4,286) and number of active cases is 1,444 (general population - 1,425 and CAPF personnel - 19) .
The recovery rate is 97.28 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 951 D-type and 157 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
At the same time, 8580 vaccine doses were administered on Thursday and it took the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 12,34,665 including 5,74,873 fully vaccinated individuals.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (42,555), Imphal East (27,096), Thoubal (9401), Churachandpur (10,101), Kangpokpi (2770), Tamenglong (3272), Bishnupur (9100), Senapati (2216), Ukhrul (2864), Kakching (6365), Chandel (2309), Noney (1066), Tengnoupal (1048), Jiribam (1020), Kamjong (899) and Pherzawl (463) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (631), Imphal East (446), Thoubal (172), Churachandpur (160), Kangpokpi (59), Tamenglong (13), Bishnupur (189), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (38), Kakching (111), Chandel (35), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 39,492 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,360 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,30,950 tests per million population against the national average of 4,21,380 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 2618 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 4.32 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 9.16 per cent.
