Imphal, February 14 2026:
The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) Manipur State Unit has announced its intention to contest the upcoming State Assembly elections independently, despite its alliance with the BJP at the Centre.
The party is focusing on key issues such as employment generation and empowering women and youth, according to LJP (RV) State president Khoirom Deepu.
Deepu made the statement today at the party's office in Keishampat during a function welcoming new members from various districts, including Machi village in Tengnoupal District.
He emphasized that the party's approach is in line with the vision of its leader, Union Minister Chirag Paswan, to bring about significant change in the region.
He further expressed hope that the new State Government would bring peace to Manipur soon and mentioned that the party is urging Central leaders to find a resolution to the ongoing conflict.
Considering the current situation in Manipur, the LJP (RV) has prioritized public welfare and relief efforts over election campaigning so far.
The party has been actively involved in providing aid, including food, water, and clothing, to IDPs staying in relief camps since the conflict began.
In a related effort, the party's Mahila state president, Konthoujam Sonia, distributed essential items to the Konthoujam and Lamboikhongnangkhong Relief Camps.
