Nata Sangeet Academy celebrates 32nd Foundation Day

The 32nd Foundation Day of Nata Sangeet Academy And Research Centre was celebrated today at Janmasthan Community Hall, Yaiskul.
The celebration was 'graced by dignitaries, including P Bilash Singh, Director, Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy; S Vedeshwar Sharma, president, Nata Sangeet Academy And Research Centre; and K Rajumani Singh, Deputy Secretary, Manipur State Kala Akademi.
Speaking on the occasion, P Bilash said that Nat Sankirtana is an inseparable part of Manipuri society, performed in every sphere of life from birth rituals to marriage celebrations and death ceremonies.
He also emphasised the importance of learning Nat Sankirtana by the youths of the State so that the rich heritage of this art is carried forward.
As part of the event, the 'Ningthoujam Angang Yaima Memorial Life Achievement Award' for the year 2025 was presented to Khoisnam Kriti Singh of Pishum Ningom Leirak, in recognition of his significant contributions towards the preservation & promotion of Nat Sankirtana.
Offering of floral tributes to the deceased founder members of the Nata Sangeet Academy And Research Centre and performance of the academy's annual production 'Dekho Gura Brahma Taal' were the main highlights of the event.
