Imphal, August 12 2025: The Chief Judicial Magistrate of Imphal West has on Monday granted bail to Constable Kongkham Pradeepkumar of Thoubal Athokpam Khunou who was arrested on the charge of issuing fake appointment letters to job seekers at RIMS hospital and Manipur University, The condition for the bail is that the accused furnish a bond with two sureties of Rs 2 lakh each.

Accused Kongkham Pradeepkumar (36), s/o Munindro is a resident of Thoubal Athokpam Khunou and he allegedly issued fake appointment letters for various posts at RIMS and Manipur University, collecting approximately Rs 88 lakh from job seekers.

During the bail hearing, the defence counsel argued that the accused was unaware of the allegations and claimed that the charges were fabricated by the complainant.

It is also submitted that the accused has been falsely implicated in the case without any evidence.

The defence counsel said that the accused is suffering from numerous ailments and is under meditation since the last 2/3 years.

The Court, after the hearing, granted bail to the accused.
