10-day Basanta Ras workshop concludes at Moirangkhunou

Moirang, January 12 2026: The 10-day workshop programme on the Manipuri classical dance form "Basanta Ras" concluded on Monday at Khongnangmakhong Mandop, Moirangkhunou.

The 10-day workshop which commenced on January 2, 2026, was organised by the Meneka Nritya Academy, Moirang.

The closing ceremony of the workshop programme was attended by village elder Ngasepam Gambhini Devi; secretary of the Panthoibi Thang-Ta and Jagoi Sindam Shanglen, Laishram Raju Singh; and ASHA worker Salam Isabela Devi, who graced the occasion as presidium members.

Altogether 35 artistes from different parts of Bishnupur district participated in the workshop programme.

During the workshop, Junior Fellow of the Ministry of Culture, Ngasepam Meneka served as the dance instructor; Haobijam Gourashyam as Raj Dhari (Pung) instructor, Chanam Bhanupati as Sutra Dhari (Eshei) instructor, while Shijagurumayum Shantikumar Shanna conducted the session as flute instructor.
