KKL condoles demise of Saikhom Kamlakanta

Kangleipak Kanba Lup (KKL), Manipur, has condoled the untimely demise of Saikhom Kamlakanta Singha of Silchar, Assam.
In a condolence message, KKL said it mourns with profound sorrow the demise of Kamlakanta Singha, a distinguished educationist, retired Principal of DNNK Girls' Hr Sec School, Silchar, and a dedicated social worker and community leader.
He breathed his last on September 7, 2026, leaving behind a rich legacy of service and dedication to education and welfare of society, it said.
He served with distinction as president and advisor of the All Assam Manipuri Students' Union (AAMSU) and remained deeply connected with the aspirations and concerns of the Manipuri community.
His contribution to the cause of education and welfare of Manipuri society in Assam will always be remembered with great respect, KKL said.
The organisation recalled that at a particularly difficult juncture following the violence that began in Manipur on May 3, 2023, Kamlakanta Singha extended his support and solidarity to the Meetei community of Manipur.
His passing is an irreparable loss not only to his bereaved family and friends but also to the Manipuri community and educational fraternity, it said.
KKL conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
