Imphal, June 06 2025: Monalisa Maibam, Judge, Special Court ND&PS Manipur on May 30 convicted Makakmayum Hassan (32) who was arrested by a team of Narcotic and Affairs of Border in possession of heroin number 4 powder and WY tablets worth Rs 70 lakh in the international market on January 12, 2018.Earlier, the Court had reserved the judgement of the trial after the final hearing on May 9 against Makakmayum Hassan of Lilong Haoreibi Makha Leikai.

During the trial, the prosecutor presented 7 witnesses and 6 documents before the Court.

After hearing the submission of PP, defense counsel and on perusal of the material on record, the Court convicted Makakmayum Hassan under section 21 (c) and 22 (c) of ND&PS Act and fixed June 9 for the sentence hearing to announce the quantum of punishment.

The Court also directed OC of NAB PS to take necessary steps to dispose of the seized contraband items according to the law.
