NSU organises Community Outreach Programme at Kakching

Kakching, April 05 2026: A one-day community outreach programme was held today at the Library and Information Centre, Kakching Phoushupat Leikai, organised by the National Sports University, Imphal.

The programme was attended by National Sports University, Imphal, vice-chancellor Dr Shyam Sundar Rath; Superintendent of Police, Kakching, Priyadashini Laishra (IPS); Badminton Association of India, Joint Secretary, Naorem Shyamkumar; Kakching District Olympic Association, secretary Moirangthem Nilo; and District Sports Association, Kakching, president Kshetrimayum Ibobi as presidium members.

During the programme, National Sports University, Head of Department (in-charge), Department of Sports Coaching, K Ravishankar, and Head of Department (in charge), Department of Physical Education, Dr N Amritsen attended as resource persons and shared their insights on sports development and community engagement.

Later as part of the outreach initiative, sports equipment was distributed to various associations of Kakching district, including badminton, boxing, table tennis, archery and football associations, aimed at promoting grassroots sports development in the region.
