Imphal, September 02 2025: Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal West has allowed a CBI New Delhi application for transit remand of one Karim Uddin Barbhuiya, accused of felicitating cyber criminal/fraudsters by issuing SIM cards for use in illegal activities involving digital arrest, impersonation, fraudulent advertisement, investment and UPI fraud.

The New Delhi CBI sought 3 days transit remand to produce the accused before a Court in New Delhi.

The accused is Point of Sale Agents of telecom service providers and has been acting in connivance with cyber criminals/fraudsters by issuing SIM cards for use in illegal activities involving digital arrest, impersonation, fraudulent advertisement, investment fraud and UPI fraud, said the CBI in the Court.

After hearing the submissions, the Court allowed transit remand of the accused for 3 days.
