Dedicated OPD services for Ex-servicemen inaugurated in Chandel

In a significant step towards veteran welfare, a dedicated Outpatient Department (OPD) services for ex-servicemen was inaugurated at the Unit Hospital of 21 Assam Rifles in Chandel district today.
The initiative, undertaken by the Commandant and Chief Medical Officer of 21 AR, aims to provide free and regular medical care to retired service personnel in this remote region of Manipur.
The opening ceremony witnessed the enthusiastic participation of around 35-40 veterans, along with members of the Ex-Servicemen Welfare Association and local community representatives.
The Chief Medical Officer assured that OPD services will be available twice a week, addressing a longstanding healthcare gap for ex-servicemen in the area.
The event concluded with group photographs and a high tea, symbolizing camaraderie and mutual respect between the armed forces and the veteran community.
The Ex-Servicemen Welfare Association, Chandel, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Commandant Md Akbar and the team of 21 Assam Rifles for their continued support and generous gesture, which will have a lasting impact on the lives of those who once served the nation.
