KICA marks 16th foundation day

Thoubal, April 01 2026: K Ibotombi Cultural Academy (KICA), Charangpat Maklang, celebrated its 16th foundation day with great enthusiasm and traditional splendour at the Charangpat Mamang Leikai Community Hall on Tuesday.

The celebration was graced by Vaishnav Pheiroijam Manibabu Singh as chief guest; Nata Sankirtana Eshei Guru Lairenlakpam Khomei as president; and Lairik Haiba Thiba Guru Ahongsangbam Ghana Singhas guest of honour.

Speakers on the occasion lauded KICA for its dedicated efforts over the past 16 years in preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Manipur.

They highlighted the academy's significant contributions in nurturing traditional art forms such as Nata Sankirtana, Pung Cholom, Khubak Eshei, Kaydeva Sheishak, Holi Phangnaba and Ta Khousarol.

Later as part of the celebration, students of the academy showcased their artistic talents by presenting a vibrant "Rasheshori Pala," captivating the audience and adding a cultural highlight to the event.
