Imphal, August 31 2025: In a spirited display of civic responsibility and community engagement, Assam Rifles organized a comprehensive cleanliness drive at Gen A Bongjang village in Tengnoupal District on August 30, 2025, under the aegis of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

According to a release issued by the IGAR (South), the initiative witnessed the active participation of 42 personnel from Assam Rifles alongside enthusiastic villagers, united in their commitment to fostering a cleaner and healthier environment.

The drive commenced with a coordinated effort to clear public spaces, remove accumulated waste, and collect plastic litter from the village surroundings.

The team meticulously cleaned pathways, drains, and communal areas, transforming the landscape and setting a new benchmark for hygiene in the region.

Beyond the physical cleanup, the event served as a platform to sensitize residents about the importance of sanitation and its direct link to public health and environmental sustainability.

The villagers, inspired by the dedication of the troops, joined hands with renewed zeal, turning the event into a vibrant example of civil-military cooperation.

The initiative not only enhanced the aesthetic appeal of the village but also instilled a lasting sense of responsibility among the locals to maintain cleanliness as a daily practice.
