Imphal, December 31 2025: Emoinu Eratpa Numit, one of the most cherished festivals of the Meetei community, was celebrated across the State on Wednesday with great devotion and enthusiasm.

Celebrated every year on the 12th day of the Meetei lunar month of Wakching, the day is dedicated to Emoinu Ahongbi, the goddess of wealth, household, prosperity, and hearth.

In every household of the Meetei community, the day was marked by offerings of seasonal items, prayers for well-being, and lighting homes to invoke the blessings of Emoinu Ahongbi.

The 'Emoinu Erat Thouni Thouram' was also organised today at the complex of Khuleima Ema in Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapal, by the Emoinu Organising Committee, League of Callow Patriot.

The celebration was marked by 'Pena Yaikairol' and offering of prayers & obeisance to Emoinu Ahongbi.

Similarly, the Wangkhei Dolai Thaba Chingu Khubam Thougal Lup celebrated the '7th Erna Emoinu Erat Thouni Thouram' at Wangkhei Dolai Thaba Chingu Khubam in Wangkhei Keithel Ashangbi.

Hoisting of the 'Salai Taret' flag, singing hymns and offering of seasonal items & prayers to Emoinu Ahongbi were the main highlights of the event.
