Kamjong, Pherzawl step up preparations for Independence Day celebrations

The district administrations of Kamjong and Pherzawl have stepped up preparations for the 80th Independence Day celebrations, with district-level officers reviewing arrangements and assigning responsibilities to ensure smooth and befitting observance of the national event.
In Kamjong, a District Level Officers meeting was held at the Mini-Secretariat Conference Hall, Kamjong District Headquarters, today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner LN Kashung.
The meeting was attended by Superintendent of Police, Kamjong, Tholu Rocky, Additional Deputy Commissioner HL Jain, Sub-Divisional Officers and other district-level officers.
The meeting deliberated on the roles and responsibilities assigned to various departments for the successful conduct of the Independence Day celebration.
Kashung directed all officers to discharge their assigned duties responsibly and work in close coordination to make the celebration grand and lively.
The meeting also reviewed arrangements for the observance of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign across the district from August 9 to 17, as well as the observance of Partition Horrors Remembrance Day on August 14 in line with the nationwide programme.
Later, Kashung chaired a meeting of the District Disaster Management Authority, Kamjong, at the same venue, where preparedness measures to mitigate and respond to disasters in the district were discussed.
Meanwhile, the Pherzawl District Administration also convened a high-level review meeting to assess preparations for the Independence Day celebrations.
Deputy Commissioner Anunay Anand directed all departments to undertake meticulous planning and ensure seamless coordination for the successful conduct of the event.
The meeting reviewed arrangements concerning rehearsals, venue management, ceremonial protocols, security, logistics and other operational aspects.
Anand outlined the specific responsibilities of various departments and stressed the importance of collective efforts and effective interdepartmental coordination for a smooth and dignified celebration.
Preparations for the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and the observance of Partition Horrors Remembrance Day were also reviewed during the meeting.
Among those present at the Pherzawl meeting were Superintendent of Police T Lalboi Haokip, Additional Deputy Commissioner Lalthazam, Deputy Conservator of Forests SL Niangthianhoi and other district officials.
