Senapati, May 30 2025: In view of possible disaster due to the incessant rainfall over the past few days, Senapati district administration has established temporary shelter homes at various places in and around the district headquarters.

According to an order issued by Senapati deputy commissioner Mamoni Doley on Friday, "in view of the need for preparedness and effective response to any natural or man-made disasters, and in exercise of the powers conferred under the Disaster Management Act, 2005, several institutions/buildings are hereby designated as Temporary Shelter Homes in Senapati District Headquarters Area.

They include the ADC Conference Hall and ADC Guest House at the premises of ADC Office, Senapati with CEO/ADC Adahrii Maheo as the person in-charge (7085589582); and community halls at Rikhumai, Viewland, Church Road colony, Khabung Karong, Taphou Phyamai and Kathikho Karong with SDO Rang David Kung (8415913750) as in-charge.

These facilities shall serve as temporary shelters for affected populations during emergencies such as landslides, floods, earthquakes, and other disasters, the order mentioned.
