PEACE Thoubal marks 29th foundation day with cultural celebrations

Thoubal, March 30 2026: The Performing Entrancement Art and Cultural Evolution (PEACE), Thoubal, celebrated its 29th foundation day today at Thoubal Achouba Keithel Multipurpose Hall.

The programme was graced by Joint Director of Art and Culture, Manipur, Gurumayum Dharmadas Sharma as chief guest.

Sahitya Akademi awardee Ningombam Sunita Devi attended as the functional president, while Manipur State Kala Akademi awardee Ayekpam Nandita; District Youth Affairs and Sports Officer, Thoubal, and National Best Coach awardee (Judo) Deven Moirangthem; and Padma Shri & SNA awardee Kakchingtabam Sanathoiba Sharma attended as guests of honour.

As part of the observance, dignitaries and members paid floral tributes to the portraits of late members who had played significant roles in the growth and development of the organisation.

A souvenir marking the occasion was also released.

The celebration further witnessed the felicitation of senior artists and students of the academy with traditional shawls (Lengyan) and certificates.

The programme concluded with vibrant cultural performances, including traditional songs and dances presented by the students, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region.
