Senapati, August 29 2025: Security forces arrested three individuals, including two women, in possession of illegal substances and drugs in separate incidents.

In the first seizure, one youth identified as Paogoulal Touthang (22), s/o Paojangul Touthang of T Gamnom village under Saikul police station in Kangpokpi was arrested along with 205 soap cases of brown sugar weighing 2.816 Kg at Hengbung Checkpost at around 10.30 am.

The accused was carrying the contraband items in a Santro car having Manipur registration number from which Rs 2.5 lakh in cash was also seized, said police.

A case has been registered at Senapati police station under relevant sections of the ND&PS Act for investigation.

In the second incident, two women, B Dinah (42), wife of N Tennyson, and H Khune (45), wife of B Daniel, residents of Tunggam Afii Village, currently staying in TNK Village, Senapati were arrested at Mao Gate near the ILP counter with 113 gram of brown sugar, packed in 8 soap cases.

A case has been registered at Mao police station.
