Lions Club of Imphal observes World Hunger Day

Lions Club of Imphal; Lions International, District-322D observed World Hunger Day, 2025 on Wednesday by donating food items to the Old Age Home, Nongmeibung managed by All Manipur Women's Association (AMWA).
As per a release issued by Lions Club of Imphal, members of the club led by its president O Ranjit Singh donated rice, pulses, edible oil, tea, ngari, biscuits and other items for the women residents of the Home.
On the occasion, H Manikumar Singh, past district governor and chairman of the Hunger Alleviation Committee, Lions Club of Imphal, said that Lions International, which is die largest service organisation in the world, aligned their service projects with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
Highlighting that hunger alleviation is one of the eight focussed service projects of Lions International, H Manikumar said, "On World Hunger Day, Lions Clubs throughout the wdfld take part in an endeavour to end world hunger with various hunger alleviation projects".
Lions Club of Imphal president O Ranjit Singh said that on many occasions, Lions Club of Imphal has extended help through donation of food items to the disadvantaged section of the society.
AMWA vice-president Sanjenbam Devahuti Devi expressed gratitude to the Lions Club of Imphal for the generosity extended towards the women senior citizens through the service activity.
