Imphal, November 26 2025: Manipur International University (MIU) has congratulated Dr Sanabam Gunajit Mangang, Assistant Professor at the varsity, on the global recognition of his book "Foreign Policy and International Affairs: A Determinant of Domestic Policy", published by Sunmarg Publisher and Distributors.

As per a release issued by MIU, the book has been officially listed in WorldCat, the world's largest online library catalog, and included as a reference book at The Ohio State University, Columbus, USA - a significant achievement reflecting academic excellence from Manipur on the international stage.

Dr Gunajit's work presents a significant reversal of the traditional Realist Theory in international relations, which holds that national interest drives a nation's foreign policy.

In contrast, his study theorizes that foreign policy and international affairs can themselves shape a nation's domestic policy.

Drawing insights from historical thinkers such as Niccolo Machiavelli, Thomas Hobbes, E H Carr, and Hans Morgenthau, the book extends this discourse by examining India's Look East and Act East Policy and its influence on domestic policy decisions.

MIU lauded Dr Sanabam Gunajit Mangang for his scholarly contribution and international recognition, which brings pride to the academic fraternity of Manipur and India.
