MAYOL taps short films to promote good governance

Imphal, July 26 2026:
Manipur Youth League (MAYOL) held the screening and prize distribution of its First Short Film Competition on "Anouba Laang-on gi Leingaklon" at Loktak Lairembi Yakapung, Chanura Leikol, Khurai Chairenthong on Sunday.
Retired IAS officer RK Nimai attended as chief guest.
He lauded MAYOL for its efforts to bring good governance, saying citizens must understand governance and elect capable representatives.
He stressed that the Centre's share for states under the Constitution must be properly claimed.
Guest of honour and MAYOL advisor Longjam Ratan said good governance ensures people's wellbeing and appreciated MAYOL's campaign through the competition.
MAYOL president Koijam Suresh said the competition followed a January convention at Manipur University.
He added that MAYOL has carried out campaigns in 17 of 40 valley constituencies and urged public support.
Out of 19 entries, "Anouba Laang-on gi Leingaklon" by Dev Thokchom won first prize of Rs 50,000 .
