Two-day seminar on Tripura Manipuri women, cultural heritage begins

Thoubal, July 25 2026: A two-day seminar exclusively for women, titled "Reflecting Roots: Tripura Manipuri Women & Cultural Heritage," was inaugurated at Agartala Press Club on Saturday, marking the first such seminar of its kind in Tripura.

The seminar is jointly organised by Takhellei Tengbang Lup and Nongmaithem Foundation.

The inaugural function was attended by Leikol Manipur president Ch Subadani Devi as chief guest, retired Drug Controller of Tripura Govt, Kanchan Sinha as functional president and retired Assistant Professor of DM University Dr RK Mushuksana as guest of honour.

The seminar was conducted in three sessions chaired by Dr Ng Ekashini Devi, Dr Maya Nepram and Dr Salam Santibala, during which 10 writers from Tripura presented papers focusing on women, cultural heritage and related themes.

A women-only poetry reading session was also organised later in the day, with Dr Anuradha serving as moderator.
