Imphal, December 25 2008:
MANIPUR government has sought reimbursement of a fund amounting to Rs.3.45,83,623 which the state had spend in three months from April to June this year under head of the security related expenditure(SRE), official source said today.
A statement of the state home department submitted to the director (northeast), Union ministry of home affairs while categorically stating on the expenditure said that out of the total amount, Rs.39,59,7233 was incurred on home guards used for security.
The amount is eligible under the Central SRE scheme as per item no.3 (v) of MHA revised guidelines.
Another amount of Rs.2,92,50,000 was also used in buying fuels and lubricants expend by the police department said the statement citing that the amount can be claimed by the state government as per item no.3 (iv) of the same guidelines of the MHA.
The state is also claiming another amount of Rs.10,73,900 which incurred in making provisions for the Central Security Forces, army deployment and as electricity consumption charge for them during the said three month period which is also claimable under item no.(i) of the SRE guidelines of MHA.
The remaining amount of Rs.3,00,000 was spend in the payment of ex-gratia grant and gratuitous relief to the victims of extremists violence claimable for re-imbursement as per the eligible item no.
