AR restores damaged road culvert in Kangpokpi

Kangpokpi, July 24 2026:
Assam Rifles personnel from Company Operating Base Longa Koireng repaired and restored a damaged road culvert at Khonglong village in Kangpokpi district on July 23, restoring vital connectivity for the local population.
According to a release issued by IGAR (South), the culvert had suffered severe structural damage due to prolonged use and adverse weather conditions, making it hazardous for pedestrians and vehicles.
As the main passage connecting Khonglong village with surrounding areas, the damaged structure had disrupted daily commuting and vehicular movement, causing inconvenience to residents.
Following an appeal from the village authorities, Assam Rifles troops promptly mobilised and, in coordination with local residents, undertook the repair and restoration work.
The joint effort successfully restored safe and uninterrupted movement for pedestrians and vehicles.
The villagers expressed gratitude to the Assam Rifles for its prompt response and hands-on support in addressing the pressing infrastructure issue.
