Chandel, July 21 2025: As part of the 76th Van Mahotsav celebration, the Divisional Forest Officer, in collaboration with DIC Chandel organised a tree plantation drive at the premises of DIC Industrial Estate, Chandel.

The plantation programme was attended by DFO Chandel, Dr N Munal Meitei and General Manager, DIC Chandel, Th Bijoy Singh as special guests.

As part of the event, various fruit-bearing tree and flowering tree saplings such as Leihao, Bokul, Ashoka, Mango, Gooseberry, and Jamun, ranging from 4 to 6 feet in height, were planted.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr N Munal Meitei stated that under the nationwide initiative of "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0", numerous tree saplings are being planted.

He emphasised the importance of trees as the mother of all living beings, highlighting their silent sacrifices for the survival of humanity.

"There is nothing to lose by planting trees, it only benefits us," he remarked.

Dr Munal further noted that the trees planted at the Industrial Estate will offer both environmental and practical benefits in the future and therefore appealed to every department and office to continue organising tree plantation drives for a greener environment.
